Recognizing Passion and Commitment to Service

Each year, Any Baby Can honors one of its staff members with the Ruth Wells Award. Ruth Wells is a Family Education Instructor who’s been with Any Baby Can for 34 years! In her name, this award allows Any Baby Can to recognize a staff member who exemplifies Ruth’s passion and commitment to service.

This year, Guillermo Lopez has been chosen to receive the award! Guillermo is the Senior Early Childhood Intervention Director at Any Baby Can. He leads a team of 39 as they work with children to reach their full potential and help parents support their child’s health and development. His dedication is evident in his nearly 18 years of service at Any Baby Can.

The Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program at Any Baby Can is for families with children from birth to 36 months, with developmental delays and certain medical diagnoses. ECI services support families as they learn how to help their children develop physically, mentally and emotionally by providing in home services from a team of specialists. Guillermo wholeheartedly believes in the ECI model. “The reason we’re a great part of the Any Baby Can agency is because we believe that, through coaching and education of families, we can teach you as a parent how to provide intervention to your child,” says Guillermo.

Guillermo is honored to receive the award because he has respected Ruth as a mentor and a leader since he started working for Any Baby Can. To know his colleagues see him the way he sees Ruth was a heart-warming and moving moment. “When they called my name out, it got me,” said Guillermo. “It choked me up for a couple of seconds, because I didn’t expect it.”
