Veronda Durden
President & Chief Executive Officer
Veronda Durden joined Any Baby Can in January 2018 as President and Chief Executive Officer, bringing a distinguished career dedicated to improving the lives of Texans through leadership roles in state government, nonprofit organizations, and working with the Texas Legislature.
Before joining Any Baby Can, Veronda served as Commissioner of the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS), where she led statewide efforts to ensure Texans with disabilities and children with developmental delays could pursue independent and fulfilling lives. This mission closely mirrors Any Baby Can’s and reflects Veronda’s lifelong commitment to service.
Prior to her role at DARS, she served as Assistant Commissioner of Regulatory Services for the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. Veronda holds a Bachelor’s in Education from Northwestern University and a Master of Science in Health Administration from Texas State University.
Deeply engaged in her community, Veronda serves on the boards of Workforce Solutions Capital Area, Greater Texas Federal Credit Union, the Prenatal to Three Statewide Coalition, and the Executive Women in State Government President’s Advisory Council.
As Any Baby Can continues to grow to meet the evolving needs of Central Texas families, Veronda leads with integrity, compassion, and a collaborative approach—drawing on decades of experience in health and human services to strengthen the organization and elevate its impact.

Rebecca Elizondo
Chief Program Officer
Rebecca has more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit and education sectors, with deep expertise in parent education, workforce development, early childhood, and grant and program management. At Any Baby Can, she provides strategic leadership for programs including parent education, early childhood intervention, home visiting, and mental health and case management services. Rebecca is committed to ensuring families receive high-quality, client-centered support that strengthens their wellbeing and long-term stability. Since joining the organization in 2015, she has played a key role in enhancing program quality, expanding services, and advancing a holistic approach to family support.
Prior to Any Baby Can, Rebecca spent a decade at Goodwill Central Texas, where she was instrumental in developing a comprehensive career and educational training system for youth and adults facing barriers to employment.
A native Texan from the Rio Grande Valley, Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Education from Texas State University. She began her nonprofit career as an English as a Second Language teacher and case manager, quickly moving into leadership roles at every organization she has served.
As a dedicated community and family advocate, Rebecca serves on numerous coalitions and nonprofit boards across Central Texas and the state of Texas, working to advance outcomes for children and families who face systemic barriers or have been historically underserved.

Libby McGhee
Director of Human Resources
Danita, who goes by the name of Libby, received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from HBCU, Alcorn State University and master’s degree from Iowa State University in Industrial Relations. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Libby has resided in Austin, Texas since 1990 when she relocated from Baltimore, Maryland to work for Fisher Controls, now Emerson. She has over 20 years of HR experience working for both small and large organizations in Austin, Dallas, Melbourne, Florida, Baltimore and Denver, Colorado.
Libby has one daughter, Ashantee who was formerly an artistic roller figure skater. Libby enjoys baking cakes, re-creating recipes from some of her favorite restaurants and family, attending concerts, basketball games and plays.

Albert Ruiz
Chief Operations Officer
Albert has a wealth of experience and knowledge from working in state governments, such as Texas Workforce Commission, and Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services. In addition, he has worked with various nonprofit organizations with missions of improving lives of people in Texas communities by increasing access to services and empowering individuals and families.
Albert holds a Bachelor of Arts from Angelo State University and a Masters of Public Administration from Texas State University.

Natalie has been a passionate and dedicated team member of Any Baby Can since 2015, serving in various financial roles before her current position as CFO.
Natalie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BBA in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy, and she is a Certified Public Accountant. After graduating, Natalie moved to New York City where she worked for PwC as an auditor in Private Company Services. After 2.5 years of living the fast-paced Manhattan life, Natalie left New York, and the United States, to serve a fellowship with Kiva.org in Tanzania. After six months of working in the field, seeing first-hand the impact the nonprofit’s mission was making, Natalie knew her career path needed to take a turn. With her new vision and a vow to never experience a Wisconsin winter again, Natalie moved to Austin, and soon after found her place at Any Baby Can.
While she’ll always be a cheesehead at heart, Natalie loves the Austin heat, breakfast tacos, and music scene. She has an endless passion for traveling, enjoys staying active, and loves to be outdoors. She loves her Any Baby Can family and is honored to be a part of such a passionate, hardworking group of people making their mark on Central Texas.

Annie Wells
Chief Development Officer
Annie Wells joins the Any Baby Can team as the Chief Development Officer, bringing nearly 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, donor relations, and strategic growth. She is passionate about building strong, mission-aligned partnerships and empowering teams to think boldly and collaboratively.
With a background spanning the arts, education, environmental, and health-focused nonprofits, she excels at connecting seemingly disparate ideas to design innovative programs with lasting impact. A servant leader at heart, she thrives on collaboration and is driven to maximize positive outcomes for children and families across Texas.
She holds a Master’s in Leadership and Change Theory with a concentration in the Psychology of the Workplace, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Art History. Her academic foundation supports her deep understanding of team dynamics, organizational change, and values-based leadership.
Outside of work, Annie enjoys camping, hiking, and exploring the outdoors. She stays active in the community through volunteer roles, serving as a Strategic Consultant for YWCA Western New York, Trail Steward with The Trail Foundation, and Volunteer with Austin Creative Reuse. She is also a member of the Windsor Park Neighborhood Association and a Volunteer Strategic Fundraising Consultant with Open Austin.

Haila Yates
Chief Communications Officer
Haila has more than 20 years of nonprofit marketing and communications experience, specializing in integrated strategy, branding, project management, digital marketing, messaging and graphic design. She brings a proactive, collaborative approach to her work, ensuring key stakeholders are involved, project goals and tactics are clear, and resources are identified and implemented appropriately.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication–Advertising from Texas State University, Haila began her career at HAND (Helping the Aging, Needy and Disabled, Inc.). She went on to lead the communications team at Girl Scouts of Central Texas, where she also participated as a member of the executive team. Haila then served as the Communications Director for Mission Capital (formerly Greenlights for Nonprofit Success), where she guided the organization through a complete rebrand while contributing to revenue growth of more than 250%.
Prior to joining Any Baby Can, Haila also led the communications team at the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. While at the foundation, she served on the leadership team and built on her experience in strategic planning by serving on the planning committee and guiding the implementation of the final plan. She also strengthened her project management experience and led the foundation through the adoption and implementation of project management software.
In addition, Haila is a former board member of TreeFolks, where she served as board secretary and led them through an executive transition.
In 2018, Haila joined the team at Any Baby Can, where she now serves as the Chief Communications Officer and oversees branding and communications, as well as volunteerism and public relations.

Terry Arguello
Foundation Relations Director
Terry currently serves as the Foundation Relations Director. During her original 12-year tenure with CEDEN/Any Baby Can she held various positions including Program Director for prenatal, early childhood, and parenting home visiting programs. She edited and promoted CEDEN’s bilingual curriculums and served as the Associate Director and later Interim Executive Director of CEDEN during times of administrative transition. Her 30 years of grants experience includes developing and writing capital campaign proposals, stewarding foundation relationships, strategic program and sustainability planning, measurement and evaluation, and writing (local, state, national) government, corporate, and foundation grants.
Terry has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology from Stanford University and a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Kathryn Austin
Director of Family Health Services
Kathryn Austin, M.Ed., LPC-S, NCC is the Director of Family Health Services at Any Baby Can, overseeing the counseling, medical case management, and infant and early childhood mental health consultation programs. She has over 10 years of experience working towards accessibility and equity in community mental health settings in Central Texas. She has worked in agencies, schools, and transitional housing programs. She holds a Masters of Education in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University and grew up in Austin. In her non-work time, she enjoys singing, cooking, biking, and gardening.

Brianna Fleet is passionate about creating unique and memorable celebrations for any occasion. The empowering mission of Any Baby Can, along with her personal experience witnessing the impact this organization has on families and friends, has inspired enthusiasm for her role as Director of Events & Sponsorships. Having professionally planned hundreds of events since 2008, she enjoys challenging expectations and impressing guests with creative event experiences.
Brianna is a native Austinite and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin. She began her career planning and managing programs and events for UT Athletics before starting her own event planning and floral design companies. With dual US and Canadian citizenship, she enjoys traveling, cooking, digging in her garden, and experiencing all of the things that make Austin weird and wonderful!

Maddie Glover
Director of Program Impact and Strategy
Maddie joined Any Baby Can as the Director of Data, Reporting and Evaluation in 2021 and became Director of Program Impact and Strategy in 2026. She has spent the last 7 years in Austin’s nonprofit sector with experience in foster care, domestic/sexual violence prevention and care, homeless prevention work and parenting programs.
Maddie graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Arkansas. After working in direct care with foster children, she pursued her Master of Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in Administration and Policy Practice to work in non-profit data management and program evaluation. Maddie completed her master level internship at Any Baby Can where she first fell in love with the mission and work Any Baby can does for the community.
Although born and raised in Hong Kong, Maddie calls Austin home and enjoys the ever-growing food scene, cooking and baking, and being outdoors: camping, kayaking, or hitting the trails with her daughter Lyla, her husband and her two rescue dogs. She is honored to be back at Any Baby Can supporting and uplifting families in our community.

Marie Gonzales
Senior Director of Family Strengthening and Education
Marie oversees several Any Baby Can programs, including Parents as Teachers, Nurse Family Partnership, Family Education Program, and Family Support Services. Marie started at Any Baby Can in 2007 as a Parent Educator in the Parents as Teachers program, where she provided home visiting services to clients in the program for 7 years. She then served as the Parents as Teachers Supervisor for 6 years and Director of Programs for 7 years.
Marie has her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Howard Payne University and is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Texas. She has 28 years of experience in the field working with teens and families.

Kristin Kroll
Director of Revenue Cycle
Kristin serves as the Director of Revenue Cycle for Any Baby Can. She is a seasoned healthcare executive with over two decades of experience in senior leadership roles across non-profit, private and corporate organizations. She is experienced in digital transformation initiatives and executed operational strategies to drive growth, improve efficiencies and enhance provider and patient experiences.
Throughout her career, she was a visionary leader in the implementation of two startup operations and led KPIs for strategic growth and improved operations.
Throughout her leadership roles, she was always connected to community resources in Central Texas to help support programs for patients in need. She is compassionate to serve the underserved community to help provide services to guide them to a higher quality of life for a better life.
Kristin was born and raised in Wisconsin and obtained her Bachelor's of Science and Master's of Education from the University of North Texas. She enjoys traveling with her husband and daughter and is passionate about gardening and making the world a better place.

Guillermo Lopez
Senior Director, Family Health and Intervention Services
Guillermo is a Licensed Occupational Therapist. Guillermo has been part of Any Baby Can’s mission for over 25 years, first as an Occupational therapist with the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program, then holding leadership positions as a supervisor, then as a Director of ECI Services, Senior Director of the ECI program, and finally as the Senior Director, Family Health and Intervention Services. In his latest role he is providing leadership for the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI), Comprehensive Advocacy and Resources for Empowerment (CARE) and the NO Estas Solo programs.
He has presented on behalf of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC, Dept. of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services – DARS) child outreach to the local pediatric community and as a guest lecturer at The University of Texas at Austin. Guillermo is also currently serving as the Vice Chair for the State of Texas Early Childhood Intervention Advisory Committee appointed by Governor Abbott.
Guillermo received his degree in Occupational Therapy from University Texas Medical Branch Galveston.

Cynthia Quinones
ECI Deputy Director
Cynthia serves as the Deputy Director of the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program at Any Baby Can. She is a dedicated leader with more than 25 years of experience providing high-quality, family-centered services and over two decades of leadership within ECI. Since joining Any Baby Can in 2001, Cynthia has been instrumental in guiding the program through expansion, strengthening operations, and ensuring excellence in service delivery for children and families across Central Texas.
Throughout her career, Cynthia has focused on building strong teams, implementing quality improvement systems, and fostering a culture of compassion and accountability. She takes pride in mentoring staff and creating opportunities for professional growth while maintaining a deep commitment to families and children with developmental needs.
Originally from Puerto Rico, Cynthia graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and earned a Master’s Degree in Science from the Caribbean Center for Advanced Studies. She also completed one year of law studies and holds a lifetime Social Work license in Puerto Rico. Her professional background includes roles in social work, education, palliative care, and community advocacy.
Cynthia serves on multiple advisory community boards and volunteers with nonprofit organizations throughout Travis and Williamson counties. She is passionate about cooking, traveling, learning, and spending quality time with her friends and family.

Mariela Rodriguez
Director of Public Relations
Mariela is passionate about empowering nonprofits to expand their impact by strategically building strong community connections and raising public and brand awareness. She leverages her expertise to enhance organizational capacity and amplify mission-driven work.
Mariela joined Any Baby Can in August 2022 and currently serves as the Director of Public Relations. In this role, she leads crucial initiatives, including cultivating strong community partnerships and relationships with media and influencers, training agency ambassadors and facilitating agency-wide communication and managing thought leadership and public awareness campaigns.
Prior to Any Baby Can, Mariela served as the Communications Director at BookSpring, where she managed key initiatives to increase public awareness of the importance of early literacy and family reading. She is also a proud AmeriCorps alumna, having served with Literacy First.
Mariela holds a Master of Science in Digital Marketing and Analytics from St. Edward’s University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Texas A&M International University.
