Leslie found Any Baby Can last December, after delivering her fifth child. She had a son at home, Amari, who born prematurely at 25 weeks with a variety of developmental delays and physical impairments. When he turned two years old, he was not able to walk, despite receiving a variety of therapies. Feeling overwhelmed, Leslie welcomed the chance to gain a community through Any Baby Can.

In his short life, Amari has been through multiple surgeries to help improve his abilities, including surgery on both of his legs. He will also need surgery on his wrist before he turns three. Amari still requires an assistive device to help him get around.

It has not been an easy road, and everyone in the family is affected. But Leslie is a dedicated mother, who makes the best life possible for her family, from family dinners and game nights, to the motivational decorations she keeps in their home.

"I admire Leslie for how strong she is and how, despite everything she has going on, she remains driven to provide laughter and fun for her kids. She no doubt wants the best for her children and does everything in her power to make it happen,” says Cleo Hodges, Leslie’s Certified Parent Educator.
