Volunteers Align Mission with Service

Volunteer appreciation week is a chance to shine a light on the people who make it possible for Any Baby Can to achieve our mission! In the last calendar year, 136 volunteers have spent more than 1,363 hours volunteering with Any Baby Can. This is an estimated impact of nearly $40,000! But the impact is even more meaningful than that. They have shown our staff and our clients that we’re not alone in this mission!
Volunteers assisted with childcare, created educational toys for clients, helped with events, organized our offices, and even helped with spreadsheets and making phone calls. All of this behind-the-scenes work allows Any Baby Can to focus on the families we serve.

Greater Texas Credit Union
The wonderful group at Greater Texas Credit Union have been supporters of Any Baby Can for many years. Community involvement is a value woven into the fabric of their organizational culture. They encourage employees to volunteer during work hours so that everyone can contribute to their community.
“When our team members connect with the community and each other through volunteering, we see the value immediately and in the long term. Team members feel more committed to Greater Texas Credit Union, and they’re living the mission,” says Rachel Bond, Greater Texas Credit Union’s AVP of Community Engagement and Public Relations.
Volunteering as part of a company group has been easy and rewarding for them. It removes any hesitation or intimidation someone may feel about going out on their own.
Greater Texas Credit Union employees have helped Any Baby Can in so many ways! They supported our camper send-off for Camp Grey Dove, set up for events, and helped families directly during Adopt-a-Family.
Any Baby Can’s mission is close to their hearts, as many of their team members are parents or have friends with children who have needed support. One was even an Any Baby Can client many years ago! We’re grateful that they’ve shared their time and talents with us over the years!

Radiant Plumbing & Air Conditioning
Radiant recently engaged with Any Baby Can as part of their commitment to community service. Their situation is unique! Not only do they have many remote employees, but they also have field technicians that are not in one place at the same time. They needed a volunteer solution that met lots of different needs.
Adopt-a-Family was a great way for their whole team to get involved! Radiant employees were able to purchase gifts from family wish lists on their own time. Then some spent time during the workday wrapping and organizing the gifts. Remote employees helped us make phone calls to remind other donors about drop off procedures and answer questions. Radiant drivers and field staff even helped deliver gifts! Everyone helped us in so many ways to bring happy holidays to hundreds of families.
“People want to work for a company that isn’t just focused on work and the bottom line. We’re focused something bigger for the clients we work with and for the greater community,” says Christie Gallatin, Regional HR Business Partner for Radiant Plumbing and Air Conditioning.
Their advice for volunteering in the community? Just do it! You can make it easy and start small. Every little bit helps!

National Charity League - Capital of Texas chapter (NCL CapTex)
The National Charity League (NCL) is a nonprofit organization that fosters leadership and a lifelong philanthropy through mother-daughter volunteerism. We've had several NCL groups volunteer with us including NCL CapTex (Capital of Texas) and NCL Lake Austin. Among other organizations, NCL has shared their time and talents with Any Baby Can.
NCL believes deeply in the essential programs we provide families, and that is reflected in the heart of their own mission: to connect hearts, hands and minds so that every community thrives. Their volunteers have participated in activities like decorating for seasonal celebrations, preparing breakfast for the Mothers Connect group, and donating to our backpack drive.
“These opportunities give our chapter a sense of joy and purpose. In particular, the Back-to-School Backpack Drive resonates deeply with our members. It’s a chance to help children begin the academic year with the tools and encouragement they need to succeed,” says NCL CapTex volunteer and Philanthropy Liaison Gloria Chen.
One amazing way NCL volunteers share their time with Any Baby Can is by watching our clients’ kiddos while their parents are in a class. Gloria says that these moments—filled with laughter, music and play—offer a powerful reminder of the direct impact someone can have.
Volunteering with Any Baby Can is more than just giving your time. Whether you're offering a warm meal, a kind word, or a playful moment with a child, every action makes a meaningful difference.
NCL CapTex says that if you're looking for a way to connect with others, give back, and experience the joy of service firsthand, there is no better place than Any Baby Can!
