Why Home Visitation Works

There are many organizations that offer assistance to children with developmental delays, special healthcare needs and cancer, so what makes Any Baby Can special? In addition to offering support groups, parenting classes and resources for first-time mothers, most of our programs work with families in their homes.

Home-visitation brings services families normally would receive within an office under the care of a nurse or therapist directly to their house…in most cases right to the living room floor! Here are just a few reasons home visitation yields great results:

• Children are comfortable in their home environment and more motivated to participate in activities. Because the child is not having to adapt to new surroundings, more time can be spent on development.
• Other children and family members in the home often have the opportunity to interact with the child receiving Any Baby Can services. This encourages organic activity between visits, which can lead to long-term success for the child.
• Families get to stay at home. While this may seem like a given, many of the families we serve balance a delicate juggling act between multiple medical offices and treatment centers. Bringing our services into the home saves families time, money and resources.
