Empowering First-Time Moms

In Texas, 10.7% of births occur before 37 weeks and 11 % have low birth weight. Any Baby Can partners with first-time mothers to bring answers, guidance and confidence to this transitional stage in life.

Nurse-Family Partnership

Nurse with baby and momAny Baby Can is a proud provider of Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP), a nation-wide, evidence-based program that aims to improve pregnancy outcomes, decrease pre-term births, and empower moms to create better futures for themselves and their babies.

Beginning in early pregnancy, first-time pregnant mothers are matched with a free, personal nurse to guide them through pregnancy and becoming a parent. The nurse is available to the mother until the child turns two years old.

NFP Provides:

  • Regular, in-home nurse visits throughout pregnancy and the post-partum period

  • Healthy and safe parenting techniques

  • Knowledge about child development

  • Access to referrals for healthcare, childcare, job training, counseling and other services in the community

  • Support on developing and reaching educational and career goals

  • Continuity of care by collaborating with physicians and encouraging clients to attend all prenatal appointments

NFP does not replace obstetric appointments, but rather supplements those medical visits with personalized, whole-family support.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • First-time, pregnant moms

  • Before 28 weeks of pregnancy (the earlier the better!)

  • Residents of Williamson or Travis County

  • Under 185th Federal Poverty Level (qualify for WIC/Medicaid)

We have English- and Spanish-speaking nurses available to support you. Our team can help you assess if you could benefit from and qualify for Any Baby Can’s NFP program.
